Welcome to our website. Claremont is a successful and popular school with a clear sense of purpose. It has been my privilege to lead the school since 2003 and, as I enjoy my final weeks here, I would like to offer you a sense of what we do.
As a team, our intention is to ‘Let every Light Shine’ and ‘To be the best we can be’ and this applies to adults and children.
Underpinning this are our 6 strategic aims – 1. To develop lifelong and independent learners. 2. To provide high quality teaching meeting each pupil’s needs 3. To model exemplary leadership and governance that brings out the best in others. 4. To develop a vibrant space for learning 5. To provide best value in the use of public funds, and 6. To earn respect for our collaborative approach to school improvement.
For the pupils , the teaching styles, curriculum and ethos at Claremont are underpinned by our 10 core values: Growth Mindset, Problem-Solving, Collaboration, Inquisitiveness, Reflectiveness, Creativity, Communication, Community, Diversity and Independence.
For them and the staff there are certain behaviours we all try to practice, and these contribute to our sustained success. These are – Openness, Questioning, Persistence, Inventiveness, Generosity, Emotional stability and Empathy.
Do come and visit us, there’s plenty more that Claremont can achieve and we welcome your support with that. No hand will be left unheld, and nothing is off limits as the team go on to build a greater and even better centre of learning.
